PP1 (Pre-primary 1)
Pre-primary education is divided into two levels: Level I (Pre-primary 1- PP1) for children aged four years. Our curriculum design has been designed with competence-based learning as stipulated in the basic education curriculum framework (BECF). Children at age 4 enthusiastically pursue their development in exciting and challenging ways.
The subjects (also known as learning areas in CBC) taught at PP1 are:
- Language and communication
- Mathematics
- Environment
- Psychomotor (physical activity learning), and creative (Music, Arts, and Crafts)
- Religion.
A general learning outcome is associated with each learning activity area, as well as a specific learning outcome. As part of the curriculum delivery process, the learning experiences and key inquiry questions have also been provided specifically for guidance. As learners engage in various learning activities, the curriculum clearly identifies the core competencies they need to acquire.
These core competencies include:
- Communication and Collaboration
- Critical thinking and problem-solving
- Imagination and creativity
- Citizenship
- Digital literacy
- Learning to learn and self-efficacy.
- Language and communication Mathematics Environment Psychomotor (physical activity learning), and creative (Music, Arts, and Crafts) Religion.
